Will I get enough heat from CosyBoard if working with a heat pump?

If you’re considering underfloor heating for your home, you might be wondering if it will work well with a heat pump. The answer is yes! Heat pumps are becoming increasingly popular in the UK, and they offer a number of benefits when used with underfloor heating.

If you have a heat pump and underfloor heating, Cosy©Board can be a great option to help increase the efficiency of your system and reduce your energy bills.

Cosy©Board is an insulation board that can be used with underfloor heating to help reduce heat loss and improve the efficiency of your system. By installing Cosy©Board, you can help to ensure that your heat pump is working at its best and that you are getting the most out of your investment.

How can I ensure I get the maximum heat from Cosy©Board when using a heat pump?

When it comes to working with heat pumps, the way that the system is designed and installed is key. Our Cosy©Board system can achieve outputs up to 100W/m² dependent on the floor’s finish, but the system needs to be installed correctly to maintain these results.

Our designers always look to achieve the maximum output from each loop by starting the flow at the coldest part of the room (or zone) and working away from this point.

This delivers the hottest flow temperature to the coldest area first, then cycles the remaining heat through the rest of the floor before returning to the manifold.

If the system was installed in the opposite direction, the heat would be distributed to the warmer areas of the room first, with the cooler return water then hitting the coldest part of the room – a much less efficient system.

How do heat pumps benefit an underfloor heating system?

Heat pumps deliver the hottest flow temperature to the coldest area first, so you’ll get evenly distributed warmth throughout your home. They’re also friendly on your heating bills, space-saving, improve air quality, are environmentally friendly and can reduce your carbon footprint. Additionally, heat pumps have lower running costs than other heating systems.

So if you’re looking for an efficient and cost-effective way to heat your home, underfloor heating with a heat pump is a great option!
